About the Event
In this program exploring Italian American heritage, author Libby Cataldi will discuss her new memoir, It Takes a Lifetime to Learn How to Live: An Italian American Story of Coming Home, an intimate, multigenerational story rooted in the legacies of immigration, silence, and sacrifice.
Growing up in an Italian American family in Pittsburgh, Cataldi was shaped by a past that was rarely discussed. Cataldi will share the story of her family’s journey from southern Italy to Pittsburgh and reflect on the enduring legacy of immigration across generations.
A Q&A and book signing will follow the presentation. A former educator, Libby Cataldi holds a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh and has shared her work widely in the United States and Italy through appearances on NPR, ABC, FOX, RAI Uno, and at the United Nations.
This is a Free Event open to all.
